What the RTP Difference Means

RTP is a long-run mathematical return. It does not mean an individual session will gradually move toward 97.05% or 96.56%.

Over a very large amount of wagering, the difference between 97.05% and 96.56% scales with total stakes:

Total amount wagered97.05% theoretical return96.56% theoretical returnDifference
100 units97.0596.560.49
1,000 units970.50965.604.90
10,000 units9,705.009,656.0049.00

These figures are mathematical expectations across very large samples. A 100-unit session can finish with zero, a profit, or anything in between. RTP does not promise a 97.05-unit return from every 100 units staked.

The lower configuration does not remove features. A 96.56% version can still use the 3x5 grid, 1,000x multiplier symbols, 15 Free Spins and Snap/Spark/Burst awards. The features can look identical, but the 96.56% version returns less of the total amount wagered over the long run.

RTP vs House Edge

2.95%
96.56% RTP

RTP and house edge describe the same mathematical relationship from opposite directions.

At 97.05% RTP, the theoretical casino edge is 2.95%.

At 96.56% RTP, it is 3.44%.

A higher RTP therefore means a lower theoretical house edge. It does not mean the higher-RTP version will outperform the lower one over ten spins, fifty spins or one bonus round. Random variation dominates short samples.

Gates of Olympus POP Hit Frequency

28.82%

Gates of Olympus POP has a 28.82% hit frequency in the standard 97.05% version.

That figure describes how often a spin produces a win in the relevant version; it does not describe the size of those wins. A slot can produce plenty of small wins while the balance still falls overall, because a winning spin may pay less than the stake.

Hit frequency and RTP are separate numbers:

  • RTP measures theoretical value returned over the long run.
  • Hit frequency measures how often a spin produces a winning result.
  • Maximum win sets the top payout ceiling.

None of the three predicts the next spin.

Does Bet Size Change the RTP?

Changing the normal stake does not by itself switch the game to a different RTP configuration. A 0.10 spin and a 10.00 spin use the same percentage model when both are played in the same version.

The provider configuration supports a 0.10-250 bet range. Larger stakes scale the cash value of wins and losses; they do not automatically improve the percentage return.

Gates of Olympus POP has no Bonus Buy in the standard version, so there is no separate purchased-feature RTP to account for.

Animation or speed controls also do not create a new payout table. They alter presentation speed, not the mathematical return of the active RTP configuration.

1,000x Multiplier vs 25,000x Maximum Award

Maximum multiplier symbol
1,000x
Maximum total award
25,000x

1,000x is the highest value of one multiplier symbol.

25,000x is the maximum total award and also the fixed Burst POP award produced by three Super Scatters in a Free Spins-triggering combination.

A 1,000x multiplier can land together with other multiplier symbols, but the total award is still capped at 25,000x.

A high multiplier ceiling does not show how often multiplier symbols land or how often the 25,000x cap is reached.
